Ferrari 288GTO Revell + Fujimi #23 (Work in Progres)

Hi all, just a quick post...

These parts are from Revell's box (wheel and suspension parts). I use these for door and its interior part to join.
Cutting to appropriate height and length to fit inside the door.

Then glued to the interior parts from the back.

I adjusted the length of the rods to come in the half way of the pipes.

After applying glues inside the doors, I pushed the interior parts in a preferable position. After a bit of time, I peeled off the interior parts. Only the pipes were left on the doors. This way, I made the interior parts detachable.
(I am making lots of parts detachable 'cause I'm expecting lots of restoring or detail up after built.)

Still the front side has to be covered, I could successfully joined the door and interior part.

Head lights parts from Fujimi's box.
I cut the front side of the stays to fit Revell's body. I thought I had to cut the bottom as well, but it was not needed. I sometime do those unnecessary cuts and pastes, but who cares!!:)

I decided to use after market aluminum head light parts. But the size was a bit bigger (only the flange) than the headlight cover... I found those aluminum parts were easily scraped by metal files. I knew the aluminum was a softer kind of metal, but people don't believe until they do it practically (only me??).

The headlight cover parts were still needed to be sand off to fit the light.

It took about 2 hours to adjust and fit those parts for 2 sets. (Still some more work needed, seeing this picture)

Using 0.5mm nickel silver rod... (Tip were flatten by a pliers and hole was made using those tools; normal scraper and normal drill for plastic)

The brass pipes are easily cut by using design knifes (Once the small cut was made on one side, the brass rods were easily bent being cut).

I'll set these "dumper" (for the head lights, these are not dumpers though) after finishing the body painting. Same kind of dumper will be made for the front bonnet as well.

That's all for today. Thanks for looking!!
