Ferrari 288GTO Revell + Fujimi #22 (Work in Progres)

I am terribly sorry being excused too long...!!! I had bad flu and it took long time to recover from it. Then suffered from lots of work left over... And also, I've found I was suffered from hay fever for the first time in my life...!!!!

Anyway, my project is still ongoing. Let's start posting!! Besides, I am getting used to handling with my running nose...

Still sober works continue...

Fuel and oil tanks. Revell doesn't have those, so I'll use Fujimi's tanks. I had to flatten the chassis to attach them. To pursue the reality, I actually want to cut and only leave the frame, but it will weaken the chassis... there's no option.

My good old method. I put magnets in the tanks to hold the engine cover back of the seats.

Look at this strength of magnet's force!

Still lots of cut and paste.

Fujimi's tanks are symmetric, but the real right fuel tank is smaller and there has to be a oil tank back of it. Over there, you can see I mistook the left and right, getting recovered.

I don't know if I'll make oil tank or not. I'll leave it as a homework.

Changing my plan for door hinges. The ones I made was not working well, making difference in level and big gap.

Like other modelers do, I use nickel silver rod (0.5mm) and brass pipe (0.7mm).

Using those tools...

I really recommend this method. This hinge has enough strength to hold doors, having flexibility for adjusting door's position.

These are the holes to hold the nickel silver rods.

Temporarily set to the door with CA glue. 3mm offset from front edge of the door.

To open the door horizontally, I adjusted the hinge by bending nickel silver rods.

Without magnets, my GTO's doors don't close properly.

According to the doors' magnet positions, the magnets are glued to the body.

Another magnet was applied here to ensure the closing of the doors.

Nice, there's no problem on level and the gaps so far. The gaps were made about 0.5mm.

...I've done some other jobs on my GTO, but that's all for today.

Thanks for looking and waiting so long...!! (I would think some guys were waiting for my post)
